Madison and I have been working on the book very hard for the last two days, and she shows no signs of wanting to stop. We've been working perhaps three hours per day!
We have a plot summary, a plot outline, the setting, annotated list of characters, the first chapter, and we're now working on the second chapter! (The chapters are pretty short.)
It's so much fun! At lunch yesterday we had a really great, long discussion about first person, second person, and third person writing, omniscient narrators, non-omniscient narrators, and why books written in the first person can't have omnicient narrators. Our book is written in the first person, although I think third-person omnicient is appealing to Madison because it makes the author into god.
