Also there was Japanese Public Television (apparently there is a big 39 Clues fan base in Japan), and they interviewed Madison, who of course was her articulate self. Everyone there (the authors, the BSB people, and the Scholastic people) was very impressed that we were there all the way from Rochester. Here is a little video clip I took of Gordon Korman:
Here is Jude Watson, author of Book 4 (Beyond the Grave) and Book 6 (In Too Deep), describing the secret meeting where the Scholastic editors first presented her with the proposal to write for the series:
And here are some photos:
Waiting on the floor before the event, Madison made a little friend, Melba, who lives on Long Island:

Madison and Melba each won backpacks in a drawing:

The authors (left to right: Jude Watson, Peter Lerangis, and Gordon Korman) sign Madison's books. Madison talked with Gordon Korman about possibly doing a podcast interview with him.

How exciting for Madison! It seems like it was a great time and the authors sounded fun.
Oh my word, that Madison is just a cutie pie with a big personality you can almost see. I sure hope she gets that interview. Looks very exciting.
I'm such a Gordon Korman fan. What a treat to see him live!
