Quick dip

David took the girls up for a hike in Webster Park, on Lake Ontario, early yesterday afternoon.

It was beautiful up there this last weekend before all of the leaves are down. They had a goal of collecting beautiful leaves; we're going to laminate them, and see whether the diminished oxygen in any way preserves the colors.

They didn't get to collect the leaves. Shortly after they got there, Madison fell into Lake Ontario, and David had to fish her out and scoot for home. Don't worry, it was shallow; they were only at the edge.

She's pretty pleased about it, actually. Well, what normal 9-year-old wouldn't be? It's not the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
