Ella had a first this morning.
It was Sunday, so it was an eat-breakfast-when-and-what-and-how-you-feel-like-it kind of morning. I was working on the laptop at the dining room table.
Ella poured herself some cereal, got a spoon, and then, lo and behold, brought out a chapter book and stuck it into this plastic book-holder-upper thing that will allow you to read while you're eating (probably meant for cookbooks). And then, without comment, she flung herself down next to me and started reading as she munched. It was Flat Stanley. I sent a silent message of gratitude to Jeff Brown.
