For all of you who need to write, who should be writing *right now* as a matter of fact instead of reading my blog, there is a terrific web site that I just found as the result of a link at Writer's Digest:
Write or Die!
It gives you a text box. You enter your goal (time or number of words). You start typing. It punishes you if you stop before your goal.
It's just what I need. Seriously. I think this will work.
