Today was the last day of school in our school district, so I took the opportunity to go to the Rochester Museum & Science Center. It was dead quiet. No one goes to the RMSC on the last morning of school, except for home schoolers who want to get some quality time in before summer camps start letting kids run wild in there. So it was perfect for experimenting with their new exhibit without lots of kids jostling each other for a turn.
This new permanent exhibit in their AdventureZone section is called "R Weather" (from R News, Time Warner's Rochester station). Kids can do a weather forecast that is broadcast on the screen, which isn't anything new. But...it is also saved temporarily so that you can replay it. AND, best yet, you can email a copy of the WMV file to your husband or to whomever else is at work while you are at play. And then you can upload it to your blog. Totally cool.

What a fun activity. My son would love to do something like that. He's obsessed with the weather. Accuweather.com is one of his favorite websites. He has widgets on his desktop that allow him to check the weather in dozens of cities around the world. (why anyone would want to, is beyond me, but he's a seven year old boy, and that probably explains everything.)
