Bliss, however temporary

Inadvertently fell sleep last night in my bed with a girl snuggling in on each side after having read (again) the spring planting chapters of Farmer Boy. Woke at 12:30, still dressed, contact lenses still in and sticking painfully. Girls still there, small bodies flopped over me like puppies on a mommy dog. Went downstairs, worked for a couple of hours, and then came back up and saw they had filled in the gap where I was. Pried them apart gently, slid back in, and took a long, wonderful hour to get back to sleep. Tried simultaneously to revel in the experience (because I know they won't do this for too much longer) but not to dwell on how just fleeting it probably is.
