"Right now," Madison said in the car last night, "I want to start learning about everything that confuses me in the adult world. I just don't get how the adult world works, and I want to. I don't think I can finish learning this while I'm still 9 [she has 3 more months of being 9] but I think sometime when I'm 10. Let's start with TAXES. What are they, really, how are they collected, and what are they used for?"
And so we did, for the next hour.
