Please pinch your pencil

I say it all day long to Madison: "Please pinch your pencil." I say it calmly, pleasantly, reasonably, even the 40th time.

One of the things that had gotten in the way of Madison's handwriting for so long was that she was holding it wrong, in a more fist-like grip. She hated to write.

I realized it, and switched her grip, and her handwriting became much better, easier, and more legible.

But she still usually grabs the pencil and starts writing the wrong way. I have to remind her constantly. I mean, SHE sees that her handwriting is bad when she does it the wrong way, why doesn't she adjust on her own?

And while we're at it, why don't they get GET that you're always supposed to say Please and Thank-you automatically? When does THAT happen? :-)
